You should start one. Even if you don't compete for the college I am sure you would have a good time. Also, your club could help out at home meets but putting up bars and moving standards. I am sure the coaches would love you.

but money is a big factor that is involved. and i don't even know how to start a club, i'm just a freshman. I emailed the psu pole vaulting coach about trying out for the team or at least practicing with them but he said no to both so this would be the only solution. but as i said in the beginning of this message, money money money. this sport is expensive as hell.

Start a facebook group. Maybe if you get enough interest you can pool together and get a few poles and compete on your own.

Sorry boys, i would have to disagree...

A pv club at the collegiate level really would be difficult to do, even more so, at a place like Penn State. There is money involved, for poles (you probably wouldn't be able to uses the school's), insurance (even the table tennis club needs waivers/insurance forms), and because of kevin... a trainer is needed to be on site for protection. Also you would need to find a coach to be onsite, unfortunately there are only a handful of people on PSU's campus who are knowledgeable enough to be a coach, and they probably already have jobs/positions within the vault community, and finally time, psu track and field trains from anywhere between 6am --> 7pm daily, and then after wards, cheerleaders, lax and base/soft ball use the facility..... HOWEVER.

There are situations that it could help make it happen... there are open running hours at the indoor track everyday timing wise, with your own poles and permission, that might work.... PSU would probably enjoy volunteers at meets to put up bars at meets. Im sure contacting psu's inturmurals/athletics there could be a way to make it work... It would be difficult... and because of the history, it would be extremely difficult at a place like Penn State.

hope that helps... (let me stress that I am not a PSU representative, this is strictly my opinion)

sorry guys i lost my pw so i had to make a new acc but about the pole vault club at psu... i think ill make a facebook group and try to get some support sincei know there must be hundreds of students who have vaulted in high school and may want to start a pv enthusiast group... like bel142 said, i agree its going to be hard... maybe impossible but i mean i feel like this is a sport i dont want to give up and im sure many people would want to continue atleast supporting our own vaulters.
thanks for the feedback btw
