What is the highest you have ever known someone really heavy to vault? My buddy Matt says he went 13' on Monday at 230 lbs.
So let's make 230 the minimum weight to be considered haha.

Re: Fat Man's Pole Vault Record
I don't know how heavy he was...so I'm gonna say about 250ish?
Anyways, we got him on the n00b pole, which ways about 3 times as much as a regular pole, maybe even more, and he cleared 6 feet! LOL

I never met a pole I didn't like.

I jumped 14'9" when I was 229 but I was not fat. I thnk dick henrie or steve marshelck (sp) have to be pretty close. although I think matt can have them all beat in a few years

Oh yeah, Steve is a beast. I have no idea how much he weighs, but he's definitely softer than Matt and I've seen him jump 12ish in recent years.

I almost choked to death a few years ago at the freedom fair vault when ryan Vu was calling him the bumble bee

Re: Fat Man's Pole Vault Record
In college I had a 200'+ discus thrower for a roommate. We taught him to vault when he was ~290lbs. He retired with a pr of 9'9" - never made 10'.

Re: Fat Man's Pole Vault Record
my HS coach was a ~200' discus thrower and he PV'd 13'0" @ around 6'4"/265. He was not fat though. Just freaking huge.
