New World Record of 5.05m for Isinbayeva! She back-flipped on the mat to celebrate, and is now taking a lap of honor with her flag.
22:20
SHE'S OVER!
22:20
And here comes Isinbayeva for her third attempt. The stands have broken out in Russians.

She was clean over the bar but did not have much height on it. I've seen better jumps out of her, but talk about performing when it counts!

At least we know the Danes aren't completely clueless about what's going on though.

Are you clueless??? LOL ( I don t know what he meant either...but I couldnt resist!)
I meant that the Danish feed came back from the equestrian events for Isi's attempts.

And that will be all for us tonight. We'll be back tomorrow morning at 9:00 Beijing time, better educated about our mat acrobatics.
22:24
That's the third consecutive day with a WR here in the Bird's Nest.
22:23
Actually, the replay shows it was a standing somersault, not a back flip. Our mistake.
