Any Track Meets in Georgia Soon?

Unread postby bushy_12 » Fri Aug 01, 2008 4:40 pm

Are there any track meets coming up in Georgia for people like me to set new PRs for college recruiting?

Thanks

I would focus your energy on jumping high this indoor season, that'll probably help more with recruiting. If there are meets close to you, by all means take advantage, but most college coaches don't put much stock in marks set at late summer all-comers meets.

The problem is there aren't a lot of places that hold indoor meets here in GA and my school only participates in spring track.

Here's a camp coming up:

TRACK AND FIELD

• Aug. 9-10: Charlie Polhamus will hold a pole vault camp in Fitzgerald. The cost is $140. Call (229) 425-0575 or e-mail champ8385@hotmail.com.

There are indoor meets on the east coast that are within a day's driving distance of Georgia. If money is an issue, you have from now until January to start fundraising. Heck, make plans to go to Reno, there are lots of coaches there.
