legs at 10 o clock :[

Unread postby CHOBOOO » Sun Dec 23, 2007 10:41 pm

im using a 13'6 150lb pole and im 140lb. i recently got on to this pole just about a week ago, and im penetrating good through. my plant, takeoff, rock back, and speed is good, but i have a big problem trying to shoot my legs to 12. im always thinking that im doing it, but really... i don't
is this a mental thing or what do i have to do like drills and technique form to get my legs to shoot 12?

thanks!

If your plant, takeoff, "rockback", and speed were as good as you claimed, your legs automatically "shoot to 12 oclock" or more correctly, your energy continues to move upward as your body inverts. Work on your run and take off by searching for those things and figure out what you are doing wrong. Or get a video and we can give you some tips. There is no quick fix to get inverted.

I agree that the run, plant and take off are essential to swinging. Keep getting faster and more powerful.
You might want to try doing thousands of ring and high bar swings and develop your core muscle with bubkas and windsheild wipers. As your core gets stronger, it will get easier to invert

Though I certainly agree with the others, another possibility is you're gripping 3-6" too high. Hope this helps! Bubba

If you're shooting your head back you may get the false sense that you're inverted.
