Dont think about inverting....think about getting your left hip to the pole to start. When doing that make sure your right knee stays forward and stuck in that position through out the swing drill. We'll chat more after you get to that position.

Doing pop-ups helped me learn how to swing. Just try to invert as fast as you can.

A pop-up is a basic warm-up version of polevaulting. It's very minaturized. Anyway, you've probably done a bunch of them without knowing the terminology. It's done by going through the motions of a vault without holding very high. Generally the vaulter doesn't have a specified step when doing this. It's just a customary drill to get a feel for the box at the beginning of a competition or at the beginning of vault practice. Hope that helps.

um, if you have a clambing rope, you can hold it like a pole, and work on lifting your legs up to the rope,

end up looking like that

swing your leg downward, like a golf club.
Also if you pr is low or you just aren't confident getting upsidedown, you might better off perfecting your takeoff and plant. They can never be too good. One arms are an EXECELENT drill for working takeoffs.
good luck
