When I was in HS, the first meet I ever competed in, the coach just told me to do a '3,' (a pop up) and then put my right foot over my left. I have heard some people call it 'spinning like michael jackson' too. 6 and a half years later I still have a hard time turning, while continuing to rise... but were working on it..

turning can be the hard part, but it helps to think about dropping your left shoulder if you're a righty, or right shoulder if you're a lefty, into the pole, which will automatically turn your shoulders and chest, and also thinking about turing your feet at the same time. You may have been told all of this before, but just something to think about!
