I'm a Freshman in High school and I use a 12' pole and my current PR is 10.6". Should I switch to a longer pole? I'm sorry I don't know the exact measurements I hold at, but my top hand is about 3" away from the top.
Thanks For The Help.

If you are hitting the bar on the way up and landing deep in the pit with your standards all the way back, then you are probably ready for a bigger pole. Otherwise, a bigger pole wont help.

To answer your question of how high you can go on a pole, Bubka jumped over 20 feet on a 17' 1" pole. Doing the math he went off the top over 3 feet. As for whether you should move up on the pole or not, where are your standards? It sounds like moving up wouldn't hurt, but congrats on your 10'6" jump as a freshman
What is nice about this sport is that I am responsible for most everything.
