Plant track

Unread postby baggettpv » Sat Aug 26, 2006 10:36 am

I built a sliding track 14' off the ground with a harness on it. You get into it (adjust it for the right heighth) and then take a long pole and do the push type of plants (with no one else to sport)against a stationary weighted box, and go thru the takeoff. So far it has corrected many faults in our vaulters that would have taken many hours of my spotting to accomplish. It is going to be heavily used this fall with all the club kids here. It only cost about $200 to put up also.

Do you have any pictures of it or movies of it being used that you could post? I'm not sure I understand just what it is.

I like going back to this drill every once in a while.... after vaulting seems like such a habit, it becomes hard to think about what you are doing in the short time the pole is bent. It helps to slow things down and go through the motions the right way, then get back on the pole and vault.
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph

Jan's Drill

Yeah, I saw this drill on Jan's Skysystems 5 as well. I want to try it so bad! It looks like so much fun, but my coach just doesn't want to do it because of safety reasons. By the way, Jan's video Skyjumpers 5 is totally awesome. It was my fave of all his videos!
