Take off problem

Unread postby spark22 » Wed Apr 05, 2006 11:11 pm

I am having trouble taking off correctly. At the initial take off, my arms are straight, trail leg back, and knee drive strong. But almost immediatly afterward, instead of traveling foward, my hips get sucked in,(even on stay downs)and the pole looses all energy which disables me from getting into pit. I find myself at a point where nothing else(swing, turn) is possible until my problem is fixed. If anyone knows any drills or have insight into my problem, you're help would be greatly appreciated.

If jumping is the problem, do you know of any drills that could improve it.

Get someone to check if you are taking off under all the time. It is virtually impossible to execute the second phase effectively if you do that.
