The big highlight of Day 2 of the PV Summit was definitely Mondo Duplantis making 17'6" easily and taking three really good shots at 17'10". He made 16'0", 17'2" and 17'6" on first attempts before going out. That's a pretty good series for a sophomore...

17'6" is a new sophomore indoor record, ties the all-time sophomore record. 17'10" was announced as an age 16 record and would be an all-time sophomore record.
He's approaching World Youth Records... if wikipedia is accurate, the unofficial World Youth Indoor Record is 5.46, the official outdoor record is 5.51. Unfortunately, he has the misfortune of having a November birthday, so even though he is barely 16 now, he will not be eligible for these records next year.
So he's grown about 5 inches since last year... his dad says he has a 34" inseam and 28" waist. That sort of blows my mind, since my husband is 6'5" and has a 34" inseam as well...
I believe he is just getting on 16' poles for the first time.
