Why do i get the feeling?

Unread postby jomrus » Thu Feb 19, 2004 11:44 am

Maybe I have midget arms, but I'm only holding at 15'9'' or so, and I need to step at about 13'6'' to be a good theoretical step. I feel like I'm already at 14', so what happens when I decide to grip higher. Holy crap, I'll be at 15' out from the box. Anyway, gimme some info on where y'all are holding and where your corresponding step is.

I think it was Joe Dial who told me a story about a Russian Taking off at 5m, he said when he saw it 'How you gonna beat that?'

I think the really question is how well do you move over your take off?
Are your arms UP (fully extended) at take off?
Do you tend to dive into the box?
What's your PR?

we could use a little more help before we start telling you how to correct the problem.

well this wasn't really intended for coaching suggestions, but what the hey... Best way I can show you my type of jump is to look at my jump on the college forum. It's under the thread called "It's no 5.70"

I usually grip around 15'2" and take off at 12' working on getting bigger numbers in both departments.

Joe told me that one too. I think lower grips are more consistent as well, but I was talking about the guys step being at 5m who knows where the guy was gripping

Don't mind me, but I was just wondering if I could get some more info. Giving me grip height without step is worthless to me. Just curious as to where I am compared to others proportionally.
