MOSCOW - Reports emerging that the Russian Track Federation has reached an agreement with its Italian counterpart to trade pole vault coach Yvengey Trofimov to Italy in exchange for former Sergei Bubka mentor Vitaly Petrov. This would re-unite Petrov with women's pole vault world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva, who recently left Petrov to move back to Russia to work with Trofimov. Italy also received Russia's 2nd and 3rd round Olympic picks in 2012 and an undisclosed amount of cash. More details forthcoming.....

Re: Petrov traded back to Russia
And let's not forget, Isinbayeva was recently signed as a restricted free agent with a 1st round tender from Italy to Russia. That means that Russia has no picks for 2012!
They're really going for it here! It's all or nothing for 2012!

I dont understand Andy, could you please reiterate? I mean the part about Russia having "no picks", mostly. I dont understand how the Olympic system works. Thanks
