US Olympic Trials TV Coverage

Unread postby jcoover » Fri Jun 27, 2008 2:47 pm

TV Coverage appears to be as follows:

Code: Select all

June 28 12:00-1:00 a.m. USA
June 28 8:00-9:00 p.m. NBC
June 29 7:00-8:00 p.m. NBC
June 30 11:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. USA
July 3 11:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. USA
July 4 11:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. USA
July 5 5:00-6:00 p.m. NBC
July 6 7:00-9:00 p.m. NBC

Ok so that's 12 hours of Trials coverage. Let's take bets on how many actual jumps we get to see between men's prelims and finals, women's prelims and finals and the decathlon. I'm guessing twelve.

I like how well this video of Scott Huffman sums up American coverage of vault in particular, and field events in general. A national record is set while the camera is fixated on sprinters' asses. lol

ok so let's take a tally

Men's Prelims
Brad - 5.60

Men's Finals
Hartwig - 5.50
Brad - 5.65
Hartwig - 5.70
Brad Miss
Brad Runthrough
Derek - 5.80
Hartwig Miss

Men's Dec
Hardee - 5m
Clay - 5m
Clay - Miss
Pappas - 5.20

We are already at TWELVE! I predicted twelve, so I guess I'm gonna be off. I was about to guess Twenty, but I figured that would be too many... The women's vault will get a lot of coverage too especially if Stacy can make the final and make a team and if Jennski jumps high. I'm predicting thirteen total women's vaults, bringing our total to twenty five. it's a possibility!
