There are a few small tears in the top mat cover and looking for advice on fixing these. I know Gill makes a Pit repair kit, however i think there has to be other clever ways that experienced coaches have used in the past. Don't have it in the budget to replace the system until next year, just has to make it through this up coming season. The rest of the mats are just fine.
Thank you!

Rubber cement and strips of vinyl. Coat the pit cover and the strips. Let dry completely and stick together. That's what gill sells as a repair kit. Any boat supply store or boat cover shop should have strips you can get for cheap.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Google "truck tarps [your city]". Find a local place that makes custom tarps for the trucking industry. They have vinyl and mesh fabric in lots of colors and sell glue made for repairing these fabrics. Our pit was damaged in a wind storm 5 or 6 years ago. I repaired the tears this way and the repairs are going strong. Good luck.
May the Force be with you!
