I just came across this today thanks to the @polevaultpower on twitter.
I would like to hear if anyone has been using it and if they like it. I can't see where it would break any High School regulations but has anyone been having any issues with it? My big question really is durability. Being $19 a roll it's obvious a low budget such as the one many high school pole vault programs are on, will make it difficult for many to commit to.
My other major concern is the vaulters hands. Many times vaulters do drills and their hands over time begin to blister up and rip. The pain of this makes it very difficult for the vaults to fight through. So, how is this tape on the hands.
Below is a link to the video advertising the tape.

We bought a roll this weekend at Vault-in-the-Ville. I too was skeptical when I heard about it, but after feeling it on a pole, we were believers; the stuff is amazing! Cost is more than your typical athletic tape, but there is really no comparison.

Here are some key things about Tako Grip
- Long lasting... I have had some poles wrapped for over 4 months now with weekly use
- Not a sticky material and doesn't blister your hands after prolonged use
- Use it with or without chalk - stays grippy in all situations
We are getting more and more feedback and it's all good - check it out at facebook.com/takogrip

I had a question about usage.
When wrapping a pole, would you overlap?
I coach high school vaulters and I usually overlap the tape.
Thanks,
John

No never overlap - the adhesive will not stick to the gripping surface and it will roll up on you. Also, it gets pretty thick if you overlap. We have a lot of pictures on facebook.com/takogrip

				Training Through The Seasons
The Problem: Cold Hands Causing an Insufficient Grip
It's that time again! We're picking back up with training and its getting colder day by day. Suddenly, as the temperatures steadily drop, we're reminded of that familiar unsettling feeling of how difficult it is to grip our implements whether it be your stick, pole, bat, or racquet.
The Solution:
Tako Grip's innovative grip tape utilizes patented technology adding thousands of micro-gripping fingers to enhance control and improve performance when the chilly outdoor conditions prevent us from having total control over our implement. You will experience a noticeable increase in holding power, while using less force- the perfect solution to what we like to call "Cold Hands Syndrome."
"Quit slipping, start gripping."

Here are some good video reviews. Basically, you have a dry non sticky grip and a sticky grip. ALSO - Tako Grip's Sticky Skin
