I don't like it too sticky... but I like to get that zinc oxide tape... it looks like normal tape but has a slightly different texture... I tape it on normal and rub it a lot until the stickiness starts to come out :)

I dont think it matters. Just use it as you find it. I think tape is a good grip. not sticky, and not chalked. :dazed:

Depends on the weather:

On dry days, my hands tend to get sweaty, so I prefer chalk.

On rainy days, chalk is worthless, so I use clean white tape and rub in lighter fluid to make it mildly sticky.

we always use a special tape that we get from MF athletics... Its a lot like the grip tape used on tennis rackets. After using that I'll never go back. It lasts for around 2yrs or so depending on use, and works great in all weather conditions.

interesting debate

There has been an on-going debate here at Bell Athletics about the use of sticky grip. No one is trying to change any rules, just filling time until lunch.
Here are the primary arguments

Against: It takes away one of the primary requirements of pole vaulting, that is being able to physically hang on to a pole.

For: It may be safer than sliding off, everyone does it, it's legal.

What do you guys think?
