I'm not an expert on spikes since I've been away from competitive vaulting since my decathlon days in the early '80s. But, I did find out that as a masters vaulter, I wouldn't recommend using the plastic spike "risers" (not sure if that is the right name for them - you know, the little round plastic pieces between your shoe and spikes). I tried them in the Reebok TJ shoe and ended up with a torn calf muscle...
Anyone else have this problem?
