New pole.

Unread postby ATranPV » Wed Mar 11, 2009 2:25 am

Hey guys.

Right now I'm vaulting on a 13' 130 spirit and I'm blowing through it pretty good. I train with Victory Athletics and I've vaulted on a 13' 150 spirit before with no problem. Problem is, my school only has a 13' 130 and the next pole up that we have is a 14' 145 spirit. I know that the 14 45 pole is too big for me, so I wont even try going on that pole.

Faced with this dilemma, I asked my coach if I could buy another pole and he said it might be possible. My question is which pole should I purchase? I was thinking of the 13' 150 or the 14' 135. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Oh by the way, I'm about 130 pounds and about 5'3"

How high do you hold on the 13' 130 and 13'150 and where are your standards?

ATran,
Why don't you call BJ and ask him what pole you should get. He has seen you jump 100's of times and will give you the best advice.
Good Luck at the Irvine invite!

I'm holding at the top of the 30 and about 12'6 on the 50. Standards are all the way back on both poles.

Yea, I sent him an e-mail already. He's a great coach and I'll probably buy the pole he suggests, but I just wanted to get some feedback from other vaulters as well :)

Thanks! I'll do my best at Irvine Invite!
