I like how they blacked out the Nike Swoosh on his shoes...

It looks like Gill wrapped a pole in yellow for the commercial... if you look carefully at the shot where the pole slides into the box, you can see the black Gill label at the bottom of the pole.

Ron Morris and his company On Track supplied the vaulting Pit, standards and runnway for that commercial. Ron is always helping out the vault in what ever way he can.

Scott Slover, a good friend of mine, was Jeff's body double on the shoot and he said that Jeff was jumping at 16'6".

What's more impressive is that he took about 60 jumps at it over the course of two shoot days in a row. I think he missed it just a handful of times. Not bad for a 39 year old eh?

Yeah, I did catch that switch in which hand he was vaulting. Also what size pole do you think he was on, because it wasn't much shorter than the bar, and that was set at 16'6". So do you think it was a soft 5m pole? It didn't seem to give him a lot of throw at the top! I know Jeff is a great vaulter, just wondering if they were going from short approach on smaller poles!

Great commercial, I saw it on TV the other day and absolutely loved it!

Jeff told me it was a 17' bar, short run (12 or 14 steps I think) and very small pole. Jeff taped the pole yellow himself!

I talked to him yesterday about it and was amazed about the number of jumps he had to take to get the camera guys what they wanted. The runway was stretched between 3rd base and home plate at Dodger Stadium because they didn't want anything on the grass. Pretty cool stuff!
