Feisty Aussie Offers Vault Wisdom

Unread postby master » Mon Apr 10, 2006 2:50 am

You've read his feisty comments, now you have the opportunity to learn directly from the author of Begginner to Bubka as he coaches in several camps this summer. I was fortunate to be able to attend a camp Alan Launder put on with Jeremy Bailey last summer. It has been significant in forming my approach to training for and coaching the vault.

The techniques promoted and the drills taught all build on each other to provide a complete package of understanding about the vault. Not that there aren't things to be learned from the other great coaches around the country, but I'm sure you will be excited with what you learn at his camps and you will likely incorporate them to be a foundation upon which to build.

I would gladly attend another of his camps. Unfortunatley for me, this summer they are not as convenient as last year. Then I only had to drive about 500 miles, ... but I digress from my message. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend you sign up for one of the camps. It is my understanding that there will be camps in Chicago, June 2-4; near Houston, July 6-8; some activity at Slippery Rock in between; and the possibility of a camp in Minneapolis on July 1-2. Keep an eye out on Pole Vault Power for more details as they become available. I know Bubba Sparks already has info up about the camp in The Woodlands (near Houston).
