Where do you vault for the indoor season?

Unread postby ACvault » Sat Feb 04, 2006 6:45 pm

I was just wondering, where do you guys vault for the indoor season. Do you have an indoor track, a field house, or do you have good enough weather to vault outdoors all season? I don't really get to vault alot during indoor because of the weather and it takes a while to get pits out and down the track.

Well, we don't really have an indoor season (only outdoor track..which is feb-june) but pv does practice year-round.

Fortunately, our pv set up is not on the infield of our football field, so we have one of those sheds that rolls over to cover the pits.

The weird thing that we have to deal with is weather. Wednesday (1st day of field and track *as I like to say* practices) it was freezing and pouring rain. Two days later it was sunny and bright...perfect weather to be comfortable in shirts and shorts.

Here in Fort Wayne Indiana we have several options now! We have a high school that has a 90' runway with a box in the floor and Vault High Athletics which Paul Babits built this December ( www.polevaultcamps.com ). The high school is putting another box in another gym that will give us 110'. And there is talk of another high school putting a box in the gym!!!
