Is there a physical limit to how high a human can vault? This is assuming that The pole needed to go any higher would be so long/heavy that one wouldn't be able to grip it. Also assuming that the vaulter couldn't run faster than humanly possible.

Depends on the human and how well he converts energy into the vault and then how well he can utilize that energy transfer once it is given back to the vaulter. The taller the better, the faster the better, the higher jumping ability the better and the better gymnastic ability the better. If Jeremy Scott had Bubka's technique, runway speed and jumping ability we would have a much higher WR. Much, much higher.
