The case of the aging pole vaulter


Two uniformed cops arrive at an apartment complex looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a series of burglaries. They climb the stairs to the second floor, then walk down the hallway to apartment 218. They knock. No answer. They knock again, this time one cop puts his ear to the door listening for any sound of movement inside the apartment.
