Pole Vault Screenplay

Ok............this is on the up and up. I have been incontact with this person for a couple of months now. He is writing a screenplay centered on a pole vaulter as his main character. He needs help, so, cut paste, answer and send this back to him if you feel like doing so.
POLE VAULT SURVEY
STORY LOGLINE:
A world-class pole vaulter is seriously injured and must face personal demons, climb out of a personal hell, in an effort to reclaim his life and return to competition.
Please give brief answers to any or all of the following questions - answers may be narrative (paragraphical) or, in the interest of brevity, may be listed (bulleted). Take as much or as little time as you might afford on this questionaire survey. Feel free to forward this document to others for completion. Return document to: borealis@aurora.edu
1. Do you believe pole breakage might cause a sufficiently catastrophic event so as to be dramatically plausible (e.g. pole breaks, vaulter lands upside down in box, sustains head injury, spends six months in coma, comes out of coma without evident permanent damage)? Any other ideas?
2. Do you think it plausible that a world-class vaulter might be romantically involved with a female athlete/sprinter who happens also to be world-class?
3. For dramatic purposes, what might you suggest as possible obstacles and/or tragic flaws that might keep the protagonist/vaulter from achieving tremendous success (e.g. secrets/traits such as alcoholism or substance abuse; a tragic flaw such as excessive pride or arrogance; an overly demanding coach, love interest, or parental unit)?
4. If there were to be an antagonist (i.e. the bad guy competitor vaulter) of what might you imagine him to be capable (e.g. a romantic intrigue with other vaulter’s love interest; covertly spiking his pole to cause breakage, etc) - let your imaginations run rampent.
5. Do world-class athletes have sponsors that sustain them during training and competition or do most have to continue in employment while training?
