Pole Vault - 6.00 meters

Unread postby gellerj » Tue Aug 10, 2004 1:00 pm

Hi everyone.
My name is Alon, 18 - Israel, and I only have one question. Unfortunately - the forum requires registration, so here I am.
How many athletes in the history have cleared 6/00 meters in the pole vault?
I know about 5 of them:
Jeff Hartwig (USA) - 6.03
Toby Stevenson (USA) - 6.00
Tim Lobinger (GER) - I think he cleared 6.00 though I'm not sure about him.
Dmitry Markov (AUS) - 6.05
Sergey Bubka (UKR) - 6.14

And another question, if I've already signed up and all:
In terms of records - does Israel count in Asia or in Europe?

Israelies compete at the European Championships, so the answer would be Europe.

After reviewing video of Mack attempting 6 meters, I think that Tim will definately vault his way into the 6 meter club within the next year-- or if he jumps on longer pole.

I bet that Bubka's record will be tried for, but will not be broken.

nah, someone will break bubka's record. whether it be in our lifetime or not. i bet future vaulting pits will be larger to accomadate possible better pole materials that will fling people higher and higher ... (just my imaginations)!
