Do you were your orthotics with your spikes? Mine only fit in my running flats.

You can usually cut them down to fit in spikes. But you would want to get a second pair for this.

I never wore mine in my spikes, but for people with more severe problems it makes sense.

i got orthotics cuz I had terrible shin slints from the structure of my foot, and I thought if I didnt put them in my spikes I would get the shin splints again, but the heel in the orthotics made the spike like "too short" so it would fall off my heel when I ran. I I just went without it, and I had no problems. I just made sure my spikes had a good heel pad, and I did a lot of dorsi flexions and ankle stretches to keep the shin splints at bay.

I have the generic "custom made" orthotics you get from standing on that little machine that measures your feet for over pronators. They are the full size of the shoe but are kinda soft. These fit into my track spikes really good and feel good as long as my spikes are a half size bigger ie. half size over my regular running shoes. But then I have custom hard orthotics that are only from the heel to the arch that I put in my cross-training shoes right under the insole.
