Something needs to be done!

I am personally sickened by the almost cult like fanaticism that is surrounding Allison Stokke right now. I had heard that there were actual facebook pages dedicated to Allison Stokke, so I decided to take a look. People these facebook pages are not dedicated to Allison Stokke the pole vaulter I assure you. It is extremely creepy what is happening to this young woman. I propose that everyone that has a facebook account look up these pages and report them to facebook in order to have them removed. It is just way too innapropriate. Pole vaulting has always been about great sportsmanship and class, and what is happening right now on the internet to Allison Stokke is putting a blemish on our sport.
Indiana has the best vaulters!!!

There's not really much any of us can do. I did think of 3 things:

1. Pole Vault Power owns the copyright to some of the pictures from JR Nationals that are floating around. They feature Allison and teammates in whte Higher Flyers tops. If you see these, please email me the link and I will see what I can do about getting them taken down.

2. Remind people you talk to that while she is 18 now, she is 17 or less in most of the pictures online, and that she has made it very clear that this attention is against her will.

3. Email the OC Register and tell them what you think about their sale of Allison Stokke related products (none of the money goes to the Stokke family). Example here: Link

I am not sure the best person to contact at the OC Register, and I don't have time to deal with it until after my final today, but I am sure one of you can figure something like that out.

Did anyone happen to see that the LA Times said that fellow vaulters are "mostly amused" by all this? :(

edit: i guess they said that another sacramento senior said that fellow vaulters are mostly amused.
