Let's hear your nominations.
My nomination is Jonathan Webb.
He went out for the track team last season as a freshman. Realizing he wasn't going to make the varsity team as a sprinter, he turned to the pole vault. He started pole vaulting March 1st. He made it all the way to the 4A state meet and jumped 10'6". He continued to practice and compete last summer and went to a couple of camps. This year as a sophmore, he has won all of his meets but one. And at the 4A state meet last weekend, he won with a jump of 13'6". I know there are alot of sophmores jumping that high around the country. However, here in Mississippi, thats pretty good, especially after only 14 months of pole vaulting.
