ELMIRAN IN MOVIE: Adam Sansiveri, a 2000 graduate of Southside High School, appears in the film "The Good Shepherd," which opens in theaters this week.

Sansiveri plays a college friend of Edward Wilson, the founder of the CIA. Wilson is played by Matt Damon.

"It's a very small role," Adam said. "I'm one of Matt Damon's fraternity brothers."

Since moving to New York a year and a half ago, Sansiveri has appeared as an Egyptian soldier in a Metropolitan Opera production of Giuseppe Verdi's "Aida," modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch, and performed in a stage version of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

Adam and his twin brother, Sean Sansiveri, were standout athletes at Southside High School and Cornell University.

Adam holds the Southside football career scoring record with 171 points and records for receptions (51) and rushing yards (1,804). He won two state Class A pole vaulting championships and holds a school-record vault of 15 feet, 3 inches.

At Cornell, he won two Ivy League pole vaulting titles, is the school record holder in the heptathlon and was captain of the track team.

Sean helped Southside win two Southern Tier Athletic Conference basketball championships, won two Section 4 Class A discus championships and played three years on the football team.

Sean is now in his third year of law school at Villanova University near Philadelphia, Adam said.

Both were inducted into the Southside High School Athletic Hall of Fame this year.

Legendary actor Robert De Niro, director of "The Good Shepherd," cast him for the film after an audition, Adam said.
