Back in the day single leg bounds with the pole were a staple of our training. I was a mere mortal with a pr of 12', but I trained with several big blow guys who could jump 13' regularly.

Did you guys push the pole down the runway like the guy in the video, or carry it?
It seems like it would be a lot easier to do it pushing the pole, easier to balance and whatnot.

just looking up a little information about Joel's Navicular Stress Fracture; there was some interesting information about it.
http://www.fpnotebook.com/ORT155.htm
-accounts for 14-35% of stress fractures
-track athletes account for 59% of these injuries
