Lol ok try this do a swing drill on the parallel bars then flip into a hand stand and do a flip off..the odd looks will increase. Well man I hope you stay safe and in vaulting shape. btw if swing drills get alot of wierd looks I think Pilates would get even more unique situations.

Haha - I'm sure the guys will have a field day once they hear/see that I'm doing Pilates and Yoga

but then again - being that I'm faster, more flexible, and just flat out in better shape then most or all of them, it probably wont be long before they're all asking "So uh..... does that stuff work? Mind if I join in sometime?" :P

OOH RA, Devil Dog!
I'm a former Marine and while I was with the 24th MEU, I was all over the Med. I was even over in Bahrain and off the coast of Kuwait. This of course was in between the wars.
I know how it is trying to train while over seas. I was mostly on a ship all the time and didn't have much room to do anything. But, like everyone else has said so far, Drills are the best. Drills, drills, drills. If you know any Comm guys, there's this antenna that has fiberglass sections to it. Much like a vaulting pole. I use to use it to practice holding on to a pole and doing drills. The sections are not that long, say about 3 feet long. The comm guys probably have some extra pieces lying around, I would figure. Anyway, hope this helps.

Semper Fi bro - thanks for the idea. Surprisingly enough, we actually dont have any Marine comms guys out here - BUT that post pushed me in the right direction. I'm working on 'borrowing' something similar to that - or as we like to call it, the Strategic Transfer of Equipment to an Alternate Location.
(For those of you who havent heard that before, make an acronym out of the capital letters.)
I know I say it all the time, but thanks again to everyone for all the support and ideas.

Hey everone - just thought I'd post some AWESOME NEWS. I'm getting to come home TWO MONTHS EARLY!!! Which means I'll be home for the end of the track season (can't wait to get back to jumping/coaching). :D

I just wanted to thank everyone for the posts and messages - hopefully I havent gotten out of shape too much from being over here.
