I got it guys and gals. If the coach wants you to high jump (and of course this is if you really don't want to) do the western roll instead of the fosberry flop. In other words, go over the bar with your stomach facing it rather then your back facing it. If you suck then he won't ask again. On the other hand more than likely you'll jump higher using that technique anyway because it's more like a vaulting (more so than the flop anyway) approach to clearing the bar. It's more forgiving also from a landing stand point because you are actually looking at where you're going. We had guys at my school (back in the dark ages) that could do 6 to 6 and a half feet that way. If you can do between 5 to 6 feet doing the roll that should be good for a few team points I would think. Anyway, once again, you've gotten through another addition of "musings of an ol' man". In my entire life in track and field:

One 100m hurdle in 7th grade.
One anchor leg of the 4x200m indoors my senior year.

Lets just say running isnt my forte.

Good luck with running the hundred. Just hope that LaShawn Merritt doesn't decide to run it too. I saw him run this weekend and his athleticism is amazing.
