I am slightly confused lol. So you want to plant with your bottom arm straight but move it in and push the pole forward to vertical? Is that correct. If not could you explain this a little better for me? I think it may be one of the main problems why im not getting vertical becasue i keep my bottom arm locked the whole vault.

The bottom arm should be straight ARRIVING AT the take-off step, then "discarded" as the drive-leg comes through and punches up. You can check out Petrov's presentation at Reno for an explanation.
