A Contest!!!

Unread postby StickJumper » Tue Aug 05, 2003 1:15 am

A contest! I'm looking for a design to use as the polepeddlers logo. The on used currently was made in haste and is rather terrible. If you like to try your hand at designing one and submitting it, the winning designer will receive a FREE T-Shirt, their logo will be used pending permission with credit given on the page, and if they have a personal page for design or whatnot, a link will be established as well. So get designing!

Good luck, and as always, we appreciate your support.

What kind of logo?

Unread postby StickJumper » Wed Aug 06, 2003 12:29 am

It needs to say Pole Peddlers on it and have something to do with the vault. I already made a design myself, and I hate it. Anyway, I'm not sure if the design looks godd because I'm colorblind.
I used to be really good at art, and then as I began to "lose" color it all fell apart :crying: . That's why I've had others design things for me lately. It's really depressing to not be able to do something I used to love, but I'm sure there's a reason I lost color. Enough of my sob story though. Design freely and may the best design win!

I used to be very proficient with photoshop, paint pro, any flash application, etc. but it may not seem like it, but the colorbloindness has relly hampered quality production.

I have some done...trying to find out how to upload them...hahah...

*few minutes pass*

ok then...maybe you can access the files from here... if it gives you an error you might have to copy and paste them...

Also, if you have any comments or questions (ANYONE) please ask...I could use the input...like personally I'm thinking I should add some color...and I defintely not how to add color! haha I know how to make different types of patterns...

The only difference between the two is the position of Derek Miles (the pole vaulter who's pic I used...haha...found it off google)...he's behind the word in the first one...and in front of it in the second...

VaultnGus is getting me some more pictures...he says that the guy should be in full rockback and not like Derek Miles is...haha...so I'm going to fool around with what ever he gives me too...

EDIT - Yea...the error I thought that would occur occured...haha...you have to copy and paste the links...

One more before I head off...

Doug gave me some more pics and I did think that I should edit the L from Peddlers to be a vaulter too, so there is one there, too..haha

btw, I have it saved in PSD format too, so it's really easy to edit the pics, if needed

Once again, you must copy and paste the URL into the address bar for it to work...

Question though: is that pic that's in the Navigation bar the pic you're talking about, that you made?

Damn I'm posting a lot today!

Unfortunately so.
The whole site started as a two day project in my web design class at school, and we were required to make a logo for our fake business.
With only two days to produce a site while at school, I whipped out Paint and made that piece of crap. And so was the dread of having to see the ugly thing for 5 months now. :P

So would you want me to make an banner to fit there?

I can easily modify the banners I've already posted to fit that spot...

A banner isn't necessary. In due time, things will get moved around to fit better. Logo3 is looking good. Only entry so far, too. If anyone else is designing, post that you are here and we'll wait on the entries.
