russian vaulters
Yes, what happened to the good old days when lawyers didn't rule athletics. Now I can't even get my vaulters into the weight room without a key from the head coach, I can't get a high bar mounted next to the pole vault area due to insurance reasons ( I volunteered to pay and install). I told the head coach I guess our vaulters have to move to Europe in order to be able to practice ! I was injured while vaulting at West Point ( I missed the small pits), but I didn't sue. It was a chance I chose to take.
Oh well, enough of my complaints.

russian climbers
I am assigning that video to my vaulters ( I am a hs coach) this season to attempt to cure any whimpiness in them.
I was not as adventurous as those guys in the video, but Bill Hartley ( he was the national champ in 76 in hs) and I would climbe about 25 up the rafters at the indoor vaulting pits at Rutgers and jummp into the pits and it scared the poop out of me. But we did it. now I would be kicked off the team for even suggesting something like that!
Vaulters , if they want to achieve great heights , have to have some daredevil in them.
I hope america doesn't make wimps out of our athletes due to attorneys and law suites.
