looks good man!
You could stand to bring the left hand up a bit sooner during the pole drop to help you to be taller off of the ground and get on bigger sticks. Looked like the 16-5 jump was the best one, because you got off of the ground the best. Match that with a better lower arm which you had on the other two jumps and you will be jumping high 16s soon. Nice work!!
p.s... lose the baggy shorts and you'll jump 3 inches higher automatically!

I would say everything looks awesome man! Takeoff much better, run much better, and your swing looks awesome! The biggest thing I noticed was that you were under at takeoff! I wouldn't necessarily move your step back because I think if you get your takeoff out a little bit, you can move up stiffness in poles and jump even higher from that approach!!
Nice jumps man!!

thanks! My step was at about 12-7 on most of those jumps, and I should be at 13-2.
as the day progressed, I kept moving my step back as I got more warm and the adrenaline started flowing. My approach is usually at 88', but on the final jump of the day for me (the 16'5.5" attempt) my approach was at 92'! Is that bad that I moved that far back in a single meet?

From what i understand, its perfectly fine to move that far back in one meet. If you are consistently at 92 for that meet, thats fine. Its when you go from 88 to 92 in one jump that you might have a problem! The consistency during a given meet is whats important.
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph

Great Jumps!!
I agree that the 16'5.5" was definately your best jump.
I just wish i could vault like that...
By the way, the story behind that is awesome... Sometimes it's just best not to know/realize what pole you're using or what height the bar is at (my coach will put the bar up and not tell me the height until afterwards)
Again... Great Job!!

thanks...but grabbing the wrong pole could go REALLY BADLY!! Grab one too big, and you could get rejected or even worse, end up in the plant box. If you grab one too small, you could break it or more likely sail off the back of the pit.
So, always check you're on the right pole, especially when all of your poles look the same!

Looks nice! Check your pole carry and the "roundhouse" you do at plant. Ladyvolescoach talks about the motion from carry to plant should be a forward to up motion. In other words if you had a baseball cap on and stuck your right thumb out at plant (yeah I know........duh! But stay with me here), your thumb would hit the bill of the baseball cap as you're reaching for the tall plant. Think about moving your right hand closer to your right hip during carry rather than having it behind you during the run, and then going straight up from there. The arm motion should be, from the right hip- "up" instead of (think of your right hand now) back, out, around and up at penultimate and takeoff. Look at the video and see if you know what I'm referring to. If not I'll try to explane better if you need me to. Later............Mike
