video review please.
pole to the right
I have watched your videos and I can see that at 14'8 and 15' your plant was to the right and NOT stright over your head. which made you under the vault and caused you to go to the right. I like the idea of droping your hand down a little so you can get the pole out sooner and up faster. start working on popping hard off the top and you could go higher than 16. you can do it.

A coach on the pad - whether ready to tap or not - can see nothing useful - get him to stand where he can watch your plant. Unless you get that pole in tighter up the right side as you move it up, you are going to have more and more problems as you move to longer/stiffer poles as they will magnify your faults in that area.

Its what you learn after you know it all that counts. John Wooden

hey good jumps man, i can see where my competition will be in the nationals meets of '08, haha. Some of the problems you ahve are hte same ones i have, so i thought id point them out. Your take off looks decent to me, but the biggests thigns i can see that might help you would be during the swing. The swing should kind of come in 2 parts, swing from your hip, so that your upper body stays are perpendicular to the ground as possible. That way you get into the pit even more, but once you have swung from the hips as much as you can, THEN drop the shoulders. Its easy to think about in a pop up, in stages.
1.) take off/ split C
2.) swing from the toe, keep your knee drive and try to stay upright
3.) once your trail leg/foot hits the pole, drop the shoulders to the pole and hold that position till you land on your back.
That will help you with the other part in the jump i see, you are waiting a long time at the top, but keep trying to move that pole. If you want to get 16 i think you can do it, if you ca get on a stiffer pole, and off the top dont come out just because your bottom hands comes off the pole, use that top hand and keep pushing even more. You do that and im convinced you will get to 16 next year.
oh one more thing, this is kind of running form, just to help you get faster. In one of the shots from the back i noticed your feet come to your butt almost like a butt kicker, but to be faster have your foot come up the top of your hamstring, and then out to the next stride. Just makes the whole process quicker. Good luck this summer man, cant wait to hear how you do!
