As I understand it Bubka reaches maximum acceleration in his approach in the last 4 strides with acceleration continuing to increase at each stride. Does that mean that prior to these last 4 steps he has not reached maximum controled velocity intentionally? I would think that would have to be the case? Also in relation to stride length, Agapit had pointed to the fact that the last couple of strides must be shorter but in greater frequency to increase the velocity of the take off leg and the whip leg when the penultimate step is the longest step one takes throughout the approach? So if that step is the longest, it would definately have to be very fast to increase frequency. I understand that the plant step is the shortest step one takes so I can see how frequency increases there. Following Agapits logic of the importance of creating increase frequency and high speed for the whip leg and the drive knee and the fact that the driving force of the take off should come from the drive knee, I would think that the velocity of that drive knee should have the greatest acceleration in an ideal world? But, it would seem to me, that would be difficult to achieve, when one conciders the fact that acceleration always decreases (according to Agapit and I am not disagreeing with this) after the plant foot and also the fact that one goes from long stride (Penultimate) to short stride (Plant foot) and back to drive knee? How much does this change in stride length in the final two steps affect the Frequency and accelertion potential of the drive knee?
Every jot and every tittle adds up to more than just a little.

UCS 14' poles are actually about 14'1, and their weight label is 6" from the top. If you are holding the highest you are legally allowed to hold as a high schooler (the label), you're holding about 13'7. If you are truly "capping" the pole, you're gripping about 14'1.

ok so i'm holding what i'm allowed to which would be 13'7'' but then do you measure from your bottom or top hand??
so my top hand would be at 13'7'' and my bottom around 11'7'' give or take, so what would i say my grip is??? :D

The part of your hand that's closest to the top of the pole is considered your grip height. If the top of your hand is at 13'7" then your grip is 13'7". Leave the bottom hand out of the discussion so not to confuse yourself.
