I weigh 154 lbs. and I'm on a 13' Spirit 170lb pole. Our school won't get the 155 or 160 13' pole. Is there any recomendations on what type of pole? ie: would it be better to get a lower weight pole to flex easier?

HOw does your form look, If you are able to be on that size of a pole and not looking to bad on it I would stick with it.

i have a long way to go on my form, i get inverted for the most part, but its always a bit late after the pole has cleared the zeroing. im able to use this pole as long as im not tired. i have to run fast to get it to bend and get myself up. the problem is that our school doesn't have the pole i need, the 13'-160lbs. so if im having a bad day, i cant vault.

stick with it

believe me, going to a smaller pole after a bigger one will change your jump completely. i grip 14' 170 and weigh 150. get a good plant and hold your take-off a bit longer will help you penetrate fine
