Hi Polevaultpower group. I am brand new here. I am a long, long, long way away from a coach and I am looking for someone to help evaluate my video of a pole run. It is greatly appreciated!
Here is a link from the track and field analyzer which allows the video to be slowed down. http://trackandfieldanalyzer.com/club/topic/209858/

You need to keep your bottom hand from dropping before you start the plant. The bottom hand should not drop below chest level during the run and pole drop. That's where the bottom hand needs to be when the plant starts.

In your video, your bottom hand (and pole) is about waist level when you started your plant. This throws you off balance and forces you to decelerate during the plant phase. It also takes you off the balls of your feet at the end of the run and lowers your hips. I also saw your torso and shoulders twist to the right (away from the camera) while you ran with the pole low just before your plant started. Not the kinds of things you want to do just prior to take off. All of these things are caused by dropping your bottom hand.

Read this thread and look at the videos.

Keep working on it. Video yourself and compare it to the ideal techniques in the above videos.
