if im vaulting on a 13'1 145 holding 12'7 ish and jumping 12'6 (only did it once, past two meets i could only jump 11'6 with it)
would i be able to jump 13' jumping on a 150 13'3 holding 12'7? or do i need to move up my grip?
also... is it a bad idea to get on a 14' 150 holding 13'6?
i just wanted to try it in practice and i got 0 penetration
so i stopped....

sorry but i have another question, i found this info on this site and was surprised...
person X
5'3" Tall
122 lbs.
13'3" Grip Height
14 156.2 Essx Pole
Myself
5'9
122lbs - 125
grip 13'6
14' 150 Pacer III
If person x was able to jump 14'6 with those traits,, why is it that i cant jump on the 14' pole? is it speed? take off? ?

i couldnt get the recording of me trying to jump on the 14 footer but when i actually platned the pole my step was on it seemed (11') and i bent the pole but kind of got scared cause it felt MUCH stiffer than the 12'7 grip i use on a 145.
i guess i should hurry up and get a recording of the jump first...

You dont understand how many variables go into the vault....
You can jump very high on small poles if you do things correctly. Check out this post-

We talked about how speed cannot determine ultimate vault hieght, and that doing things right can make you jump very high on smaller poles.
There is a lot you have to learn about the vault, and it doesnt happen all on here. Its a great source, but you need a coach/mentor to learn from. My best advice to you would be to hook up with slippery rock this summer or vertical assault and vault with the club. It is not an option in the vault to "teach yourself"... it just doesnt produce technically sound jumpers.
