What do you think about...

...during the inversion? I've actually inverted nicely twice in my life, once at qualifiers and then again at the next practice. The problem is the more I try to do it, the less I'm able to do it. What's your mental cue for inversion?

dont try, just think about swinging your trail leg up and past your other leg. and a good thing to do, is get on a stiff pole, one that you cant bend, and then do some stiff pole jumping, with a really good trail leg.

and dont look at the bar. thats a killer.

good luck

That's my biggest problem with my vault. I'll look at the bar and end up going right into it.

My mental que when i started learning to get and stay inverted was to keep every part of the jump flowing. No pause during the swing, and i would always think about "pushing" my hips up the pole while inverted. There are a lot of posts on here for help getting inverted, and what it should look and feel like. Thats just the way i feel when i vault.
