unless i'm wrong, from what i've heard from pat manson who trained with scott at kansas and then post-collegiately... huffman only rolled on jumps where he felt like he was coming up underneath the bar at exactly the right place. a lot of the time, he would post 5.80+ marks with a normal turn.

the point is, the guy had huge throw off of the top and you could probably go over on your back and jump high if you had that much pop off of the top, just as bubka could have let go of the pole after about 1/4 of a turn and still jump 6m+ (and he did at the 94 worlds).
