This is a forum to discuss pole vault technique as it relates to intermediate level pole vaulting.

What's a Petrover?

A devout follower of Vitaly Petrov, who believes in the technical advantages of his Petrov Model, and practices them religiously.

Someone that has read Altius' BTB2 book, understands and agrees with Petrov's technique, and uses it "to the letter" in their coaching or vaulting.

Petrovite to me is emphasis on:

FREE TAKE OFF (and all components involved)

CONTINUOUS CHAIN OF ENERGY INTO POLE THROUGH FLY AWAY (and all components involved)


Unless you understand all the components involved, and the ideal way to perform these components, you drift farther from the thinkings of petrovites.
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph
