That's right folks, despite ugly rumors that it might not be held this year, the Pig Gig Vault is back. August 5th. And plans are just now forming, so exact details are not available yet. But it will be the same fun for all, low priced street vault (on the grass!) I'll post more details here as they become available, as well as an entry form. But don't worry, due to the last minute timing of this years event there won't be any late fees. So spread the word. And there will be some big vaulters there this year, including (tentatively) 18+ footer Brad Gebauer of Michigan State.
For those who would like me to mail them an entry form directly, or need directions, feel free to email me at phil_eichbauer@yahoo.com

Thanks Becca for posting the entry form. Just wanted to give you guys a few details on the whole deal.
- Vaulting starts at 11:00 am, with everyone going together, just come in at whatever height you'd like.
- Prices are low, just $15 entry and $10 for a shirt. And for those of you who no-heighted last year, only $10 entry fee. You know who you are... ;-) Oh, and no late entry fees since I was so late getting this whole thing together.
- For those who no-height, you get an extra free jump at the next height. If you make it, you're back in.
- For everyone else, when you make your 3 misses, you may purchase another jump at the next height for $5. This is a one time use only.
- Special "30 foot Vaulter" contest. Enter seperately for $5 to get in. Each contestant gets 3 vaults (and only 3) at whatever heights they choose. Highest bar cleared is the winner. The catch is you can only run from 30 feet! We will contest this before the warmup at 13'0" so approximately 2:00 pm. Special award to the winner.
So, if anyone has any questions feel free to email me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Oh yeah, and it is confirmed, 18 footer Brad Gebauer will be there!

The vault is set up just outside of the festival grounds so you don't have to pay for the Pig Gig in order to vault. Though each vaulter will recieve a wrist band (while supplies last) for free entry into the Pig Gig. The hope (from the folks who run it) is that you will go in and bring your paying family/friends with you. ;-) Check out www.piggig.com for more information about it.
As for poles, with so many vaulters there, it shouldn't be too hard to find one that will fit you.
p.s. Just a thought, could someone out there throw an extra crossbar in their pole bag for me? Seems we had a slight problem (!) with breaking them last year....
