You will need to personally place your poles on the Designated "Sunday" truck on Saturday night before midnight (the truck will be locked during the night).
FOR All OTHER ATHLETES WITH FLIGHTS DEPARTING ON SUNDAY AFTER 9AM:
There will be designated areas within the Live Stock Events Center to leave your poles for the staff to load on the truck according to departure times. These poles will be delivered to the Airport at the appropriate time on Sunday.
*Security and construction restrictions do not allow poles to be brought into the terminal requiring the following steps:
1. Poles will be dropped off by Reno Tahoe Athletics track club Staff OUTSIDE at the SOUTH end of the check in area. They will be watched over by a security guard.
2. Check to make sure your poles are present before checking in for you flight, but leave your poles in this secure location, and proceed to check-in for your flight.
3. When checking in for your flight, be sure to indicate to the check-in agent that you have poles as checked baggage. Airline personnel will move outside with you to identify and tag / label your poles. Once tagged, your poles will be handled by security (TSA) personnel and you can proceed to your gate.
**Please allow sufficient time (at least 90 minutes) prior to departure as this process is a bit more time consuming than typical check-in. Your cooperation and attendance to the 2009 Pole Vault Summit is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
**Return airport pole transportation will only be available until 4pm on Sunday. If you are departing after that, you will need to make your own arrangements for getting your poles back to the airport, ie, taxi, friend etc…
Special transportation needs:
Special Transportation needs such as pick up and drop off for individual air cargo shipping can be arranged for an additional charge with the Reno Tahoe Athletics track club and Paul Heglar. Contact Paul directly at paul@renotahoetrack.org to make arrangements. We regret BAX global freight is not an option for our staff to arrange freight for you. Please DO NOT ship your poles to the Hotel. They do not have accommodations to handle the poles.
