Their progression is eerily similar....

This has to be the highest combined height that two family members have gone in the same meet right? 5.70 and 5.94 is pretty impressive by two brothers in the same meet!

I don't know if this is the same meet record, but on July 3, 1990, Sergei Bubka jumped 5.90 and Vasily Bubka jumped 5.80 in Stockholm. :dazed:

The Bubka brothers also achieved the same combo in Lievin on Jan 25, 1992.

Also impressive, on Aug 29, 1986, they went 1-2 at the European Championships with 5.85 and 5.75.

Vasiliy Bubka was the first in history to jump 5.80 and lose.

you gotta love the consistency Lavillenie hasput up this year. I wonder how that compares to Sergey, anyone have any record on that?

Renaud, age 26, so far:
5.70i
5.83i
5.86Ai
5.92i
5.83i
5.85i
5.93i
5.94i
Undefeated

Sergei indoors 1990, I think he would have been 26 that season. This is what is in Tilastopaja, so it may not include every meet.
5.90i
5.80i
5.85i
5.90i
5.80i
5.92i
5.90i
6.05i WR
Mostly undefeated, just one second place in there.

I like where Renaud is headed ;)

If you replace his 5.70 with his newest mark of 6.01, the total for 8 meets is 47.17m Bubka's total for 8 meets is 47.12

Maybe 2nd best vaulter ever?

That's pretty crazy how close their trajectories are this season. I can't wait to see what Lavillenie can do :)
