Jamaican Nationals

Jabari Ennis won the Jamaican Senior Championships today with a jump of 5m. He attempted 5.20m after qualifying for the 2011 Pan Am games at 5m.

is this the same jabari ennis that competed for Miami back around 2002-2003. If so i recall competing against him. really great athlete!

Same guy. He took 7 years off to make it in the corp world and came back this year. He lives in Hammond, LA and trains at Bartolina Athletics. Chronologically, he is 30, but training age about 24. Look for some nice things to come from him in the next few years. His 2011 goal is compete for a medal at the Pan-Am games. His 2012 goal is ... well, 2012 - 5.60m. Right now he is on pace for both of those goals.

He blew out his knee at the TX Relays his senior year. I remember thinking that he had 5.50+ potential and then next time down the runway, bam, he landed in the pit awkwardly on his side his knee popping was heard in the stands.
