Here's a good shot of Chistiakov and Markov I took at practice in Atlanta in 1996. Hard to believe Markov (the "little" one) has jumped higher just looking at them. Bubba

yeah really.
on a random note. A few years back pacer built a carbon pole for Chistiakov that for whatever reason he didn't end up taking. So i asked if I could have it for pole runs. 5.30 9.6... its a lot of pole. Its a struggle to do anything with it. haha.

If I remember correctly, he was on 5.40 poles at the 2000 Olympics.

Here's a random meet with Chistiakov vaulting. Looks like he was having a rough day.

Probably look at the 2000 olympic games.... Hey Joe he was huge, like 6'7 probably well over 200lbs.... Probably had one of the ugliest top ends for a 19ft vaulter, as you can see from that video.

I have 2000 OG footage of him. He nearly took the gold from Hysong with a near miss at 5.95.
One day I'll get around to posting it online. I need to edit it down. Currently, it's one file for prelims and finals and much too large for youtube. Has Bubka's last jumps of his career also.

yea, iaaf.com said he was 2.02 meters tall and weighed 202lbs haha. probably the biggest poles ever made (surprised no one mentioned him in the thread about the biggest poles. I think everyone was giving the title to either skipper or jacob davis.

skippers poles are "relatively small". I didn't think to mention victor either though. Def a beast. Plus possibly the hottest pole vault wife ever. haha. (tatiana gregorieva )

What size sticks is Skipper on anyway?? Yes, Grigorieva is probably the hottest polevaulter ever. I think her niece Vicki Parnov may be poised to take her title though!!
